Teacher – centered pedagogy based on lectures and text books has been supplanted by student – centered pedagogy, which increases learning due to active participation of the learner.

  • It offers meaningful projects, as in service and experiential learning.
  • Make use of computers to deliver content and assessment.
  • Personalize and customize content to each student’s unique needs and plans for their future.
  • Focus is on application, analysis, evaluation and creation ( as in Bloom’s taxonomy) not memorization of facts.
  • Used self paces learning to mastery learning.
  • Student work on each concept until they “get it”.
  • Encourage and facilitate collaboration structure assessments including collaboration while acknowledge individual work.
  • Interest driven or passion driven education with in the course parameters. This makes the effort intrinsically motivating. Individual and group assignments are student tailored, based on area of interest to the student.
